Discussion Questions

1.  As good readers we all can predict that Dessa will eventually step off the porch and venture out into the yard.  Do you think she will have a daymare when she does take those first steps or do you think she will be just fine?  Please elaborate.

  1. I believe Dessa will venture out from the step. The experience will probably frighten her at first. While she is out playing with the dog, her fears will eventually disappear.

  4. I believe that she might because she may think of her mom and it would just pause her and make her think but she may not because of the dog is making her forget about it so I cant realy tell.

  7. I think that Dessa will have a daymare, then step off of the porch. While she is outside her fears will disappear more as she has more fun with her dog.
